The Spirit is moving and inspiring churches around the country to seek justice. Throughout
our neighborhoods, cities, and even the world Christians are standing with the vulnerable in
the face of oppression and injustice. They are speaking out on issues of extreme poverty, HIV/
AIDS, immigration, corruption, racial inequality, and more. We praise God for this movement
of the Spirit, and long to see a church standing for justice become the norm rather than the
But, how do we take our Kingdom quest for justice to the next level? In which areas of justice
is our community strong, and in which areas do we need to improve? Where are we simply
paying lip service to justice, and where are we actively seeking justice?
These are the questions we hope to help you answer using this Church Justice Evaluation. The
Church Justice Evaluation (CJE) is designed to help you discover your church’s baseline
attitudes and behaviors related to justice. It is our hope and prayer that every year you revisit
the CJE and that each year you see the needle move towards more informed theology
surrounding justice and practical action for justice!
